
IT House reported on June 19 that TSMC further expanded production in Taiwan, China and rebuilt its production center in Tainan. $410 billion 3nm chip production facility.
According to Nikkei Asia, after the completion of four new facilities in the Tainan City Industrial Park, TSMC is starting the construction of four more fabs as part of its production center. Each construction project will reportedly cost TSMC about $10 billion (about 67.1 billion yuan), part of a $120 billion investment spree.
According to the report, all four new projects have 3nm chip production lines, and products that can be produced in these factories in the future include Apple's M-series and A-series chips.
The four factories are just part of a larger plan by TSMC to build more facilities.At least 20 factories are under construction or recently completedThe total construction area is over 2 million square meters.
IT House learned that TSMC has announced a roadmap for subsequent process development. The N3 process will be mass-produced in 2022, followed by N3E, N3P, N3X, etc., and the N2 process will be mass-produced in 2025.
