Travel apps are set to see some of the most up-to-date this year from 2019, according to the latest figures from Sensor tower.
Based on analyzes of downloads and usage in January 2019 and May 2022, Travel Apps estimates that Q2 2022 will cross 130 million downloads, up 56% year-over-year.
This is a solid recovery given the sharp decline in app downloads after the epidemic recession in 2020.

The UK’s traffic light travel system had a knock-on effect on airline apps such as British Airways, with downloads down 15% by 2021.
Meanwhile, US airlines such as United and American Airlines were significantly higher than pre-epidemic levels in Europe.
Transit apps are also enjoying a resurgence. France recorded the highest increase in consumption, reaching 2.7 million MAUs in April 2022, up 59% from 1.7 million in 2019.
