Whether you're a modular synth enthusiast or just love the idea of a rad electronic jam, we can all fall behind the idea of crazy electronic devices complete with buttons, dials, and patch cables. Doodlestation is a wonderful example of this, manufactured by [Love Hulten],
There's a custom 37-key keyboard that lets a person input musical notes in a distinctive way with a hilariously animated MIDI visualizer that uses their mouth to shoot a rainbow. There's also a theremin built into the chassis, which allows your hands to control the sound through the magic of the sky. Even better, the upright section has a custom-made tape echo, and you even get to see the mechanical parts working and the mag ribbon about. It's fun.
Custom hardware is paired with a range of off-the-shelf appliances that add their own functionality to the mix. It includes a sequential OB-6 analog synthesizer, a Moog DFAM drum module, and a hologram microcosm loop and glitch box for more noodling possibilities.
We love a good musical project around these parts; we have featured Some great other projects for live electronic jams beforehand, Video after the break.
