After driving 1.61 million kilometers in 8 years, man drives Tesla Model S to set a world record

IT House June 19 news, German Tesla owner Hansjörg Gemmingen recently revealed that the used Model S P85 he bought in 2014 has successfully reached 1 million miles (about 160.93 miles). 10,000 km) mileage mark.

Jemmingen shared the milestone on his social media accounts, and the Tesla owner hopes the million-mile feat will be recognized by Guinness World Records.

Jemmingen, an avid proponent of electric vehicles, drives long distances in an original Tesla Roadster when fast-charging stations are few and far between. He switched to a used Model S in 2014 for health and comfort reasons and has been adding miles since then.

IT Home has learned that after owning a used all-electric sedan for five years, Tesla owners reached a mileage of 1 million kilometers, a feat recognized by the representative of Guinness World Records at the time. However, the car had already had one battery pack and three motor changes at that time.

Since this Model S hit the 1 million km mark, it has had some more motor changes, now a total of 3 batteries and 8 motors, and the last few replacements have been less than satisfactory. The first original motor that bought the car ran 778,000 kilometers, and the durability later was much worse. According to The Driven, Gemmingen was disappointed with the quality of the Tesla motor.

Jemmingen wants to keep the record, wants to challenge 2 million kilometers, but he wants to change cars, he is thinking of ordering a Lucid Air with a range of more than 800 kilometers and setting more records.
